How often are your 3 month olds feeding?

My daughter is 12 weeks and EBF. I sometimes feel like I’m over feeding her. She eats every 1.5-2hrs unless we’re out and about. She usually goes down at least 5hrs at a time at night though. She just likes breastfeeding and it seems to calm and make her and me both happy I’m just worried she might be eating too much.

I don’t think you can overfeed a baby especially a breastfed baby. Sometimes they clusterfeed. Sometimes more hungry than others. And sometimes just do it for comfort. They will stop when they are full. It’s hard to know how much they are getting with breastfeeding though but I’m sure she’s not over eating

Sounds about right. That’s exactly how often I breastfeed. It’s not the fact that you are overfeeding it’s the fact that babies digest breast milk much faster than formula. This is the only reason that formula babies tend to go longer in between feedings.

My EBF 3 month old east every 2 hours except for if she is sleeping. She sleeps 10-12 hours straight at night, so I haven’t been minding the frequent eating, and then will nap usually 45-90 minutes at a time. She doesn’t clusterfeed (more than every two hours) anymore and I think that’s because we figured out that her “cluster feeding” was mostly her being overtired. So we figured out her early sleepy cues and wake windows and it stopped!

My babe is 3 months today, 13 weeks tomorrow and pretty much the same.  He usually goes 1-2 hours when he’s awake and at night usually 4-6 hour chunks. But sometimes the second half of the night I swear he’s attached to the boob.  I don’t worry because he’s breastfed but he’s a big boy! Almost 17 lbs and some 9 month clothes is fitting really tight already.
