How to teach kids to brush their teeth properly?

My kids like doing it then selves but half the time they are just sucking the toothpaste off -.- not actually brushing all that much and as soon as I try to hold the brush they crack the shits :( any tips please

I buy 2 tooth brushes at a time. One for my son to control and the other for me. So he brushes his teeth while i make sure to get all the spaces he misses and we do it at the same time.

I give my daughter the toothbrush so she can “brush brush brush (I repeat a million times),” while I brush mine and simultaneously show her how to do it. Then once I’m done brushing my teeth, I take that little finger brush for babies’ gums and give her a quick brush with that.

I actually let my son help me sometimes. I keep my mouth open and tell him to get all the germs off my teeth.  Then he understands the concept.  I brush his teeth first, then I let him try on his own

My son is 8 and still sucks at it lol we just bought him an electric toothbrush and it's much better because it scrubs even when hes lazy about it

My daughter loves holding it with me and helping me brush her teeth then I let her chew on it after we are done
