When to have a baby shower??

Question

I'm a FTM and I'm 20+5 weeks. I live 9 hours from my family and friends because my husband got a super good job right before we got pregnant. We have a trip planned to go see family when I'm 24 weeks and my mom wants to throw a baby shower. When did yall have baby showers? I've never been to one so I'm curious. I wasn't even planning on having a baby shower since we live here and have nobody to come to it. But we don't know when we'll be making another trip since it's so far.

My plan is to head home (11-12 hours from where we live now) in April to visit and start planning and then go home again in the beginning of September (I'll be like 32ish weeks by then) for a baby shower but who know how it'll actually play out. But I would think that everyone would understand an early shower since you live so far. Good luck!

I had mine at 30 weeks but I wish I would’ve had it earlier. My back and feet hurt the entire time and I was so hot!! By the end of the party I was ready to crawl into bed.

I had mine at 35 weeks and had my daughter exactly 2 weeks later. I’m 26 weeks now and if I have one I plan on doing it around the same time

I live in PA and my family is in TX. I just moved here and got pregnant during the road trip I think 😂 I’m having my shower at 29 weeks in TX and I still have furniture to move so I’ll be getting a pod and will put the gifts in it to transport them back here. I figured I’d rather do it a little earlier and be on the safe side since I have to fly

I had mine when I was only like six months pregnant. My husband is in the Marines so we didn’t live near family. I was already going up to visit family for my nephew’s high school graduation so I killed two birds with one stone. It just worked out that way and some people (a drug addicted cousin of my husband who was also pregnant but further along than me) decided she was jealous because I chose that weekend (she wasn’t even invited nor was anyone close to her  because my husband’s side doesn’t get along well with them) so she decided to be butthurt and talk shit. Eh, I had a great baby shower and because it was early, I didn’t feel super uncomfortable even though it was like 90 degrees.
