Anyone taking citalopram?

So About a month and a half ago I was put on 10mg citalopram. In a week I’m flying out to Tenerife on holiday for my birthday and then a wedding out there. Obviously there will be drinking at night, is anyone on that tablet? What would you suggest? Would you suggest to stop taking it while I’m away or do you think as long as I take it at a certain time like in the mornings I should be fine?

I’m on citalopram, do not go cold turkey and stop taking it, that would be the worst experience of your life, I promise. You’ll feel ill, your mood will be fucked, you’ll rollercoaster. It’s not safe to go off them suddenly. Just take normally, I’ve drank on it and been fine. It’s not recommended but a little should be ok. I think taking them in the morning is a good idea.

I was on it and I can say don’t cut it out! I drank but you do need to be careful. I found that it went to my head faster than normal, and I normally can handle a fair bit of liquor. So if you do just pay attention to your body and keep hydrated.

I wouldn’t drink while on it. I haven’t had it happen to me but I’ve heard of people drinking while on it and getting black out drunk after a few drinks. Personally, I would take it in the morning and then drink in the evening and that caused a lot of issues later on.
