Epidural issues

Are they required to tell you if something went wrong while trying to give you your epidural. I had my daughter the 7th and had 2 different anesthesiologists (other than the one who gave it to me) come check on me. One the 8th and once on the 9th (day we were discharged). I don’t remember them coming to ask how I was doing multiple days after with any of my other kids. I know backaches are normal after it, but I’ve been having pain on my right side, starting about where the epidural was placed that shoots downwards occasionally. It’s not super intense but noticeable. So now it’s got me wondering if they have to tell you or if they just watch for signs?
