If you had the luxury to leave your job and be a stay at home mom. How many months prior to the birth would you leave your job?

Too bad you didn't add one more option for those of us who wouldn't choose to be a stay at home mom even if we had the option to.
I say great for all of you who can do that and would lobe to be a stay at home mom.  It's just not for me.  I know i would go stir crazy without adult interaction and something to focus on away from home.
However,  if we did end up having the luxury of one of us being a stay at home parent, my husband would be the one staying home. He has said he would love to do that.  And it's not unusual to him because his uncle was a stay at home dad until the kids were school age.

I'm due August 8th, I'm leaving my job May 4th. I am blessed and very lucky to be able to do this.

I’d not quit my job even if I had the luxury to do so! I have always been proud of my working mom and would like to set a good role model for my daughter to believe that women are capable of managing their own lives

While there’s many factors. I won’t be returning to work but it’s mainly due to the fact I’m a teacher moving to a different state the same month she is born and her due date is literally the day before the school year starts. Soooo I will be taking at least 1 year off of teaching to be home with her and her brother that will only be 14 months older.

Depends how stressful the work environment was for me. With my first I worked until I was overdue and with my second I left work before I was even halfway through my pregnancy because it was an awful environment.

After maternity leave that way u can still get paid while you're out.

Regardless of your reason for leaving- I would never give more than a months notice (especially if they already know you’re going on leave). There’s always a risk when you give notice that they could ask you to leave immediately depending on corporate policy. So if you want to keep your position until a certain date, I would recommend staying mum for as long as possible before that time frame.

If like to add that it’s not exactly a luxury. It’s the hardest job I’ve ever had. I have 3 kids and am pregnant with #4. Staying at home is far more demanding than working a 9-5. For us my husband works so much so I’d have to hire a nanny to be able to work my nursing shifts and I don’t want someone else raising my kids so I stay home. It is rewarding, but definitely far from what I consider a luxury

I quit when I found out I'm pregnant. I have an 11 year old and have had 2 miscarriages so we wanted me to be able to take it easy and rest. Thankfully financially we don't need my income so I won't be going back to work until the baby is in school at least.

I’m a para at a high school so I will be done working in May. It doesn’t pay enough to justify going back so I will be staying home and I couldn’t be more thrilled!💗
