Does breastfeeding affect OPKs, or should is it still be an accurate way of determining when you’re ovulating?

Question

In other words, if you are breastfeeding and take an OPK, can you get a false positive? Will it still only show a positive when you’re ovulating?

OPK's don't tell you if you're actually ovulating. Your body can have an LH surge but not actually release an egg. The only way to confirm ovulation is to track your daily basal temp.
I write this to point out that it's very possible that you can get positive OPK's but not actually ovulate.
I would track my temperatures in order to actually be sure if and when I ovulate but my 17 month old still wakes up for feeds during the night so they wouldn't be accurate. I believe you should you take your temp after 5 hours uninterested sleep and before moving. 
When breastfeeding, you have higher levels of prolactin which can lower progesterone levels, which can in turn affect ovulation and sustaining a pregnancy.
