What kind of nursing chair should I get?

Question

I don’t know if I need an Ottoman or not and if I should get a swivel rocker or what.

I have heard the glider recliner is amazing if you can afford it. I have a glider with ottoman and its super comfy.

I got a rocker recliner. Spent a little more than I wanted but it's something that can go into the living room and I can enjoy long after the baby. It's also power so it's easier to get up and down and has a usb port so I can charge my phone. I might still get a glider with ottoman if I find one super cheap to put on the other floor of my house I haven't decided yet.

I got a glider with ottoman at my baby shower, and I was so excited! However, I soon learned trying to nurse my fidgety son in it was a nightmare. The arms of the chair were in the way, I couldn't get comfortable in it and my son would constantly kick his legs on one arm and propel himself into the other arm while I tried feeding him. We ended up going out and buying a rocker recliner instead, and it was the best decision! Highly recommend going right to the rocker recliner over the glider.

This is my 3rd baby that I will be using our overstuffed rocker/glider with ottoman. It’s a life saver and pretty much has been used regularly for 7 years.

We got a glider recliner with a leg rest that also swivels! I’ve just heard it’s important to get something you’d be comfortable sitting in a lot and sleeping in! I sat in A LOT of chairs to find the right one! And I like how it looks. Once it’s done in the nursery we can put it in the living room!

With my first baby I rarely used the glider / ottoman because the arms were in the way of my natural positioning. I just couldn’t sit comfortably. I ended up nursing on the sofa or in bed. This time around, I just bought a sleeper loveseat. It will allow me to nurse freely and give us somewhere for us or a guest to sleep. I suggest testing it out in the store with different holds to see if you actually like it.

I didn’t know either and ended up buying a glider , now i wish i had the rocker/recliner.  But ofcourse those r more money.. 😕  the reason for wanting rocker/recliner for me is when baby is fussy and just wants to be held u can get a lot more comfortable wth the recliner..
