I always think of any knicknames people would use, we all know how mean kids are, and if they’re awful, I move onto the next name.

I wouldn’t because people outside the home tend to call people by the common nickname whether you like it or not. Yes you can correct it, but I imagine that would get tiresome and after however many years you’d stop bothering to say anything

My son’s name is Jackson and I DO NOT like the nickname Jack. People still try to call him Jack and I tell them absolutely do not call him that.

I would. My daughters name is Victoria. I don’t care for the nickname Vicky but I think she makes it cute.

Yes - if we have a boy I wanna name him Sebastian & nickname him Bash - but fiancé wants to nickname him Seb 🙄

I loved the name Scarlett for my third daughter but I didn’t want people to call her Scar. We named her Brinley instead and it fits her perfectly. We call her Brin for short. We also have Makenna who we call Kenna and Ellison who we call Elli 🤗 I love nicknames (I think because my name doesn’t have a cute nickname so I never had one) so it was important to me that the names me chose for our daughters had equally pretty nicknames.
