Do you leave your child in the car at the gas station?

Today the card reader at the pump wasn't working and there wasn't anyone other than me at the gas station (along with the attendants) and so i left my daughter in the car with the door locked... But I feel kinda guilty about it. Just hoping that I'm not the only one that's done this.

Too many bad things happen now a days I know you feel bad and nothing happened but it’s better to make your life a little inconvenient by bringing your baby in for 2 minutes then going inside and then something happening to the baby .. you know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Currently only 19 states in the US have laws that specifically make it illegal to leave a child unattended in a vehicle.
I wouldn’t even leave my eleven year old in the car while I run in and grab my prepaid pickup order for food.

I’m extra and overprotective 🤦🏽‍♀️ but no, not at all unless I’m paying at the gas pump, then I’m at the window making funny faces😂 or got the door open having a conversation with my baby about Mickey🤷🏽‍♀️.

I live in a small town and I’ve done this. Only when I had all three under three years old in the car (including infant twins) sleeping, and it was negative something degrees out. I’d pull up as close to the door as possible and watch as close as possible as I paid. It only happened a couple times because pay at the pump was almost always an option. It made me super nervous though.

I know this was years ago but I just recently found out if I was sleeping that my dad would put a blanket over me, Lock the doors, and go in the store/gas station to pay for gas and grab snacks. We drove back and forth from NC to NY a lot. 🤦🏽‍♀️ At least you don’t do that, he doesn’t feel guilty at all smh

Idk if I would, but my parents definitely did! I was always fine because I had my older brother (by two years) but idk if they left him alone as a kid.

I’ve never done it and still don’t (he’s 9). Before I had my son, I was at a store and there were 2 kids in a car alone. I looked in my rear view mirror and the car is rolling backwards towards a busy highway. Thank God there was something in the way that stopped the car before it reached the highway. Watching that scared me to death, so I refuse to leave children alone in a vehicle.

I’m guilty of this. Especially if they’re sleeping! I make sure I park closest to the building, and lock the doors and only have the windows down a smidge to let air in and I wait in the car until there’s no line to pay.

You’re definitely not the only one who’s done it. I haven’t but I’m just saying, a lot of people in the world and some do it. I always make sure I’m alone when I need gas or someone is with me and my son. When he was a baby (like in his infant seat) I would take it out to go pay if it was cash lol.
