My fiancé and I have been together for 7 years. Engaged for a year a half. We are adventurous, charismatic, random, and overall very happy simple people. We went down the route of wedding planning for months, hit the budget on the head and we both never seemed to feel united in the face of planning. I bought a wedding dress. Booked everything for the reception but the ceremony privacy and intimacy is what we were desperately missing and longing for.

This last week we did a complete 360 canceled our ceremony, we planned to elope from the beginning but we went down the souls sucking whole of wedding planning culture. Which isn’t what we are all about. To some, yes. Which we support and are so happy for, but it isn’t us.

I can’t wait, in 30 days to go to Tulum, and marry my best friend! I’ve bought a different dress. Booked everything. Keeping the wedding reception strictly to party. We have everyone’s blessing, and people are telling us they are proud of us for doing it this way.
