Hypothyroidism

I’m 30 weeks pregnant and my OB has figured out what’s been causing some of my issues lately and it’s my thyroid. (Back when I was 13 my normal doctor tested me for thyroid issues and said I had hypothyroidism but she never put me on medication so it’s been going crazy since then) He’s prescribed 50mg Levothyroxine for me to start taking tomorrow morning. Has anyone else started this medication while pregnant? Did it effect your pregnancy in a good way or a bad way? And can you breastfeed while on thyroid medicine? I know my OB would never prescribe anything that would hurt my baby, in fact this is probably for the best because I’ve read that hypothyroidism can cause preterm labor and other serious issues, I’ve just always been a little nervous when it comes to medications.

Also as I was reading the paperwork that came with my prescription it says that the medication may cause fertility issues.. I don’t plan on having another baby for at least another 4 years, but has anyone experienced fertility issues after starting a thyroid medicine? Because I’ve read for a lot of women the thyroid medicine did the exact opposite and actually helped them get pregnant. I’m just curious as to other people’s experiences with being put on the medication. I’m probably just anxious for no reason. My main concern is the breastfeeding while on the medication and the fertility though.
