Has anyone been on a cruise with a baby?

My family is considering a cruise this summer. My daughter will be 1. Thoughts on going on a cruise with a 1 year old? Pros? Cons? We live near the departure port so no flight is necessary.

I’m planning to take my babe as well. I’ve been on dozens of cruises and have never picked up so much as a runny nose! Little tricky for sleeping I think (we’re looking at travel bassinets or similar), but otherwise totally doable. Everyone panics about traveling with their kids...I may eat my words some day but if I want them to be lifelong world travelers, it’s my job to educate and model how it’s done!! Best of luck!

Cruises are notorious for being germ and virus infested... I personally wouldn’t and if at all possible find child care.

My son is 18 months and has done 3 the first one when he was 8 months. Never gotten sick never had an issue. He loves it! Cruise staff also loves babies!

It should be fine. Babies are not allowed in pools when they aren’t potty trained, so that will reduce the chances of illnesses. You can take baby the food they normally eat, and breast milk or formula.
I would suggest taking a pack n play so the baby sleeps in a clean place and just making sure he/she doesn’t get any of the shower or sink water into his/her mouth.
Other than that, maybe take Lysol wipes and all should be fine
