BMI: not the best judge of body health?
This is me at 18/19, 200 pounds or so. My BMI here was 34.3. I am 5'4".
This is me at my current age, 24. My BMI here comes in at a whole 46.9. I am weigh 273 lbs.
I have never been skinny, will never be skinny, and the healthiest weight I remember feeling good about myself at was 200. That weight still put me in the obese category which I would argue I most definitely was not because I was in the best shape of my life at this time, running up and down mountains all day at my local girl scout camp. I can honestly say that BMI is not the end all be all judgement of a healthy body, and it is a flawed concept at best.
What do you ladies think? Are you in the same boat as me?
