If you’ve had postpartum depression, do you now regret having your child?

When I had postpartum depression before I got help, yes I sadly did regret having my son and I regretted marrying my husband, I regretted just being apart of life sometimes as dramatic as that sounds. I got called such horrid things by people who swore to love me and if it wasn’t for my husband and my son idk if I could’ve bothered to even seek help because I was just constantly told it’s not normal to feel that way and I’m horrible person. But yes it’s not normal to feel that way, that’s why it’s so important to know the signs a seek help. Now I don’t regret anything and I’m overjoyed at every little cry or noise my son makes because he’s here and he’s just so amazing and even when he keeps me up all night with teething pains I can still hold him close and thank god for giving me such a blessing.

I don’t regret my child. 
It was a really stressful time. Long story short my husband left me high and dry with two kids (3 and a newborn) at my parents house with nothing. On top of not “snapping back” to my pre baby figure. 
It’s hard but you get through it. I don’t think having ppd is a reason to regret the baby. Having a kids ain’t a unicorns and rainbows.

I kinda did when I was dealing with PPD. I would stare at her and wish she was someone else’s. I never wanted her to go away or wished she hadn’t been born. I just wanted to be able to hand her to someone else and sleep. I didn’t feel like she was “mine”, I wasn’t bonded to her. I felt like I wasn’t good enough to be her mom, I was failing. I googled adoption and thought maybe that’s what was for the best, maybe her real mom would come get her and we’d both be ok. 
I’ll be honest. I feel like PPD is already hitting with this pregnancy (my normal everyday anxiety has given in to my special edition pregnancy anxiety) . I have thoughts like “oh my god what have I done” when I think about having this baby. I try to bond to him/her and some days I’m genuinely excited but every so often I just feel dread deep inside. I already feel like I’m failing and made a mistake trying for this baby. The thing I’m most excited about isn’t meeting this tiny human but the fact that this is my last pregnancy and I can take back my body after this.  Thankfully my therapist is amazing and is working with me through all of this. We have a plan in place for when I give birth, so that I can safely and healthily learn to bond once baby is here, and take care of myself.

No. I regret that I let the pressure of society and how I am “supposed to” raise my kid affect me. I also regret letting myself feel guilty for wanting some alone time every now and then.

I said “no” because I know I genuinely don’t. But with PPD, sometimes yes, you mourn the ease of life before baby.

Not at all.. never... it was more inward facing depression.. "why wasnt I good enough, why wasnt i able to get him to stop crying, why am i crying all the time, you cant sleep jess.. you know whst happens when your asleep.. babies dont survive nights jess.. why cant you be better at this.. why wont he latch? What am i doing wrong?"
Never "why wont he stop crying, whats his problem, hes fed he cant possibly be hungry, what the hell kid" never outward thoughts.. always inward thoughts

I never regretted having him but I do regret taking my emotions out on my husband and other family members. And I hate that no one took the time to consider my feelings. It was always “Is she mad at me?” “Did I do something wrong?” “She hurt my feelings.” Like hello, I just had a baby via unplanned c-section! I’m going through a lot of emotions and pain right now...And the constant visitors ruined my breastfeeding schedule so I had to stop 😒

W my son at first i was crying everday but after i thru the post partum i was fine  i never regreted him but i was mad bc he was hard to handle compared to my 1st child i was just overwhelmed

I dont regret having my little one however I'mconstantlyon edge thinking the worst will happen. I have to do certain things like having the light switch a certain way or do a certain task otherwise something bad will happen and it would all be my fault! I constantly feel I'm just not good enough!
