C section almost 3 weeks before due date.

Hello all. My due date based on Lmp is August 10th. However I'm booked for c section on July 23rd. My question is should I have a lot of newborn clothes.. I missed out on the newborn stage with my son due to complications from the c section. Hence why I'm booked early this time. I never had the chance to care for my son until he was around 2 months old. Is it safe to say my baby will be on the smaller side? My son was 7lbs 3 oz at 40 weeks. Sorry for the long post, I just want to he prepared.
