Adverse childhood experiences & gun violence
I’m sorry that this article is long, but I think it’s really important. Please read the whole thing.

This article was written 02/21/18, so it’s not recent, but it is relevant. It explains that gun control is not the only solution to preventing mass shootings. And I think it explains why the US has more mass shootings than other countries. Aside from other countries having stricter gun control laws, they (most) also have things like universal health care, longer & paid maternity/paternity leave, quality education, higher minimum wages, etc.
I believe these system changes need to be a bigger priority than gun control in the US. Not only would they prevent violent behavior, including mass shootings, but they’d help prevent chronic diseases, other dangerous/risky behaviors like smoking & drug use and improve graduation rates.
