How much spit up is too much?

I feel like my baby spits up so often. Even when i get a good burp out of him he spits up shortly after feeding. Or as I’m trying to burp him he spits up. We do formula and breast milk. Sometimes i feel like his whole meal comes back out!

How old is LO? Spitting up peaks around 4 months... my LO got way worse around then for a few weeks and then has slowly gotten better and much less amounts and less frequent, she’s now 5.5 mo. 
Or is LO sick at all, if the spit up is mucusy it can just be from drainage

Mine was spitting up almost every feeding and multiples times in one feeding. We switched her to Enfamil AR formula which is specifically for spit up. It's working wonders.

My doctor said as long as the baby is gaining weight it’s okay, because it often looks like a lot more than what it actually is. If the baby seems to be having pain they could always do a trial period with zantac to see if it’s acid reflux.

Me too! My fears subsided a bit when she made her weight gain goal at the first week appointment and she has had the expected number of wet and poopy diapers. She also has done better since her tongue toe was fixed at the 1week appointment. But every single time she spits up I wonder if there is something else I could do to help her keep the milk down.

Spit up any time is normal even after burping. But when it’s big amounts it’s not normal. Tell your pediatrician. It could be something small but good to figure it out.
