Induction, what to expect?

Hi ladies
I’m a FTM with a stubborn baby😐 due date is today, midwife has booked me in for an induction this Saturday coming. 
I have heard lots of experiences mostly bad 😂
So honestly what was your experience like? What should I expect?

Straight after I thought it was a horrible experience but looking back it wasn't that bad, I was just so exhausted and emotional. 
I was induced day before due date and she wasn't ready to come out quite yet. Propess in at 10am on the Monday, 'tightenings' started quickly and went on until 4am, were like quite bad period cramps and couldn't sleep but by 10am Tuesday I was 3/4cm so ready for water to be broken but had to wait until there was space in labour ward. Waters broke and hormone drip in at 11pm on Tuesday, epidural by 5am and she arrived at 8.50am on the Wednesday. 
The hormone drip apparently makes contractions a lot stronger than natural labour so I would suggest an epidural when things starts to getting a wee bit too much as by the time mines kicked in they were unbearable. I wish I'd asked for one a lot sooner rather than trying to push through the pain. 
Get as much sleep as you can as by Wednesday night I was running on 4/5 hours sleep from when I arrived on the Monday morning

I had an amazing experience, went in at 12pm on the Saturday, got given pessary, come 10pm and contractions started,  by 2am I was 4 cm dialated. 7:40am I was ready to start pushing. At 8:18am Sunday morning my beautiful baby girl was born.
No complications whatsoever. In all births people will have good and bad experiences. Try not too worry too much and just go with the flow, you may even end up not being induced. Good luck 🙂 x

I was induced at 41 +5. They were able to break my waters straight away as I was already 3cm. They broke my waters about an hour after being there and my contractions started straight after my waters were broke. I did have complications towards the end and ended up in theatre. But in terms of my induction it was fine and the midwives were lovely. Good Luck! X

I had an induction at 41 weeks and it really wasn't so bad! I went in on the morning, I had the first load of gel around 11am which started contractions but wasn't enough so 6 hours later had a second dose and was contracting like mad! That was the worst part of the process as the contractions werenlonger than the break inbetween but they gave me an injection at around 11pm to slow them down, 12am I was moved onto the labour ward, started gas and air at 12.30am and baby was born at 2.18am 😊 my waters broke naturally when I got to 9cm and she arrived not long after! The pushing process wasn't bad at all!
