I’m in California and if you apply for disability insurance you get 6 weeks for natural birth and 8 for a c-section, then after that you get another 6 weeks through the family medical leave act!

12 weeks of FMLA (for birth, so 4 weeks before or 6-8 weeks after depending on if you give vaginal birth or csection), but you also get Newborn Care Leave in California for 10 weeks.

You get 18 weeks of job protected leave, post birth, for vaginal birth, 20 weeks for c section. That’s 6 or 8 weeks of disability for recovery, plus 12 for baby bonding.
