So I used to be a Muslim, well, according to my mother I still am. Whenever I see someone criticising Christians or other faiths, I would agree most of the time. But I felt that the only fair way to agree with the criticism was to apply that ruling to my previous faith. This is when I realised that i was making excuses for my faith, and I found myself thinking, well if I agree with the fact that this thing in a religion is not factually correct, is it in islam. the answer would usually be no, from *some* morals, to just plain scientific fact. I realised that

If I was unwilling to participate in another religion with nearly the same discrepancies as mine, why would I need religion at all. I don’t know if most people find out that they are atheist this way or not but idk. Also the whole thing with god not existing, which I actually never remember “believing” no matter how many times I went to mosque.
