Tri-Sprintec Birth Control Pill?

Question

My doctor prescribed me this to regulate my periods and to help with my hormones. I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken this pill and can tell me about their experience with it. Any advice and any information would be helpful.

I took it and was fine for the first three months or so, then the mid cycle cramping happened... Then that progressed into every day cramps... Then every day headaches... Finally, after five months, I asked to switch. I found out trisprintec has slightly more estrogen than ortho tricyclen lo... (What I was on until my new insurance said I had to take two different generics before they'd allow that specific BC!) so I'm now on something called Velivet. It has the same amount and type of estrogen but a slightly different type of progesterone than Ortho tricyclen lo. So far so good, but I haven't even finished my first pack of it yet! ?

That was the first type of BC pills I was prescribed and I had no major negative side effects. I gained about 10 pounds maybe if that but it was all water weight. It also made my boobs go up a cup size or two but I took that as a plus! :)

I have taken for 9 years off and on works as far as preventing (for me at least) helped with my periods definitely. However like clockwork the last two weeks of always being on the pill my PMDD got extremely worse!  Even tried supplementing with Prozac and no luck. So I went off it a couple of times and even tried other types which made me worse or lost all drive. So my husband and I decided recently to go to using condoms which is a challenge but my hormones are wayyyyy better!

Yeup I take it and honestly I'm perfectly fine as far as I can tell(: it's been about 2 months and I don't feel different... The only problem is I decided to take the pill in the early morning so now EVERYDAY I have to be up at that time! So pick a smart, reasonable, and easy to remember time!

I have. I took it for three months, and I'm now just stop taking it. It was awful. I gained 30 pounds in two months and was depressed and had some serious suicidal thoughts. It was great for my acne and period though. Everyone's body reacts to medication differently, but that was just my experience. Best of luck!
