Announcing at work?

When do you ladies plan to tell your employers that you are pregnant? I feel like I should let my boss know sooner rather than later, but part of me wants to wait until late May or early June if I can swing it.

If you have no reason (severe morning sickness, high risk, etc.) then I would wait!

I started a new job 2days after I found out I was pregnant. I decided to tell them after 2weeks of being there. My boss's response "CONGRATULATIONS! that's wonderful news. We shall accommodate you anyway we can" ... he was happy I told him so early so they can plan for my leave. I'd rather know sooner than later too🤷‍♀️

I'm a firefighter and per our protocol I have to inform them once my pregnancy is confirmed by my doctor. We can still work if the OB says it's ok but we have the option to take a desk position until we give birth.

I am just over 6 weeks and I am pretty sure some of my coworkers have or are catching on. Last week I was smoking. This week I am not, not to mention the trips to the bath room every 20 minutes. I will tell my manager once I have had my ultrasound, she has been aware and supported me throught my last 2 miscarriages. So I feel it is good to be upfront and honest, especially if you have a good relationship.

It’s sad that so many people have employers that don’t support pregnancy. I’m just waiting until I go to dr at 8 weeks and everything looks good. But with my first I told my boss (same one I have now) at 5 weeks. He was planning on bringing on a summer intern and having me train them and I was like uhhh I won’t be here then. But he’s totally supportive and my coworkers will all be excited for me. They’ve been asking when I’ll have number 2.

I run my parents’ restaurant business, and we’d been trying for 11 months so we told our parents right away. Way too exciting to keep in. So my bosses know. I waited until morning sickness got bad and then told my assistant managers so they understand when I run off to the bathroom or need to sit and eat something. Or they can cover for me when I don’t put away 50lb bags of product. But none of my other employees know, because they don’t need to. I’ll tell them when I tell social media.

Don’t tell them until they ask! The minute your super cool boss finds it you’re pregnant, they start treating you differently. No one likes a pregnant employee
