Am I the only one?

I'm 19 and havent gotten a papsmear yet. Im actually pretty terrified

When I was 15 I had my first OBGYN doctor appointment just to talk and they told me I don't have to have one till I'm 21. But last year when I went my mom and my doctor told me regardless what they said I have to get one this year (I'm 18 now). But I'm the kind of girl who won't do something she doesn't want to. I'm not sexually active so I don't see a point other than cancer. So I will be waiting till I'm 21 and no one will stop me.

Papsmears are recommended for women starting at the age of 21 and are conducted to detect cervical cancer (not necessarily STIs). These tests are really important!!! And quick and mostly painless. You should, however, begin seeing an OBGYN as soon as you are sexually active.

They aren't that bad, more uncomfortable then anything. And you need to get one if you're sexually active regardless of if you're with 1 person or multiple people.

Nothing to be afraid of. It's quick and easy. I've been getting them every year since I was 18. It's uncomfortable but it doesn't hurt. If you've had sex then you need to get them...and honestly sex can be rougher than a pap if you're into that lol

I haven't had one yet because even though I'm sexually active my only partner and I are STD free and I was still under 21 at my last appointment. My midwife said I could request one before then if I felt it necessary but she didn't see an urgent need to do so.

Nope! I was 20 when I got my first one. A few months after my husband & I got married & I switched to his insurance I went to see my PCM & she was also an OBGYN (Navy hospital doctors) & she set me up for my first. That year I had 3.... After that I don't even care, but there really is nothing to worry or stress about. The main thing is for you to be comfortable with your doctor!!! Good luck

I don't mind papsmears, I got them when I turned 18, wasn't sexually active till 23. Once you get the first one over with, you realize It's not too bad

Paps aren't that bad. I had my first one a few months ago. They just stick in the thing to make it open up which is just pressure. Then they swab, could barely feel it.  
What was horrible was that I had an abnormal pap and had to have a biopsy done. They didn't tell me it was going to hurt so bad.

Am I the only one?
