Pack n play

My baby sleeps in a pack n play next to our bed. I little "mattress" that's included seems to hard. I used a folded up blanket for cushion and more comfort. Wondering what all you moms use if anything. Cant imagine it's to comfortable.

The firmer the mattress the better for baby. Less of a chance of suffocation if they can't bury their face in cushiony blankets

Softer bedding puts your baby at a greater risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Firm is best, but I hear ya! We did a pack and play mattress pad which added a bit of softness but still seemed firm and then when he was older, we got a little mattress that is designed for pack n plays. It left a bit of space between the mattress and the edge which isn't ideal but we used it anyway.

I used the pack in play for three months before moving to her own room and crib. I felt it was hard too, but firm is better right now. Also they don't weigh much so there isn't as much downward pressure as if you were laying on it.

Thank you all for the information! I never knew firm was best, but makes sense about the SIDS and bedding being to soft. I have one blanket in there that is tucked tightly around edges which I will keep in there.

Your baby shouldn't have ANYTHING with them where they sleep. No blankets, no pillows, no padding.
