Cervix checks??

Hey mommas, I’m a ftm so I’m just curious, when should I expect to start getting checked? Next Thursday I’ll be 34 weeks and my obgyn hasn’t mentioned anything about it. I’d just like to know so I can mentally prepare lol

I've been getting regular checks since 36 weeks. I kind of like to hear how my body is progressing each week. I went from 50% effaced and no dilation to 75% effaced with no dilation and now I'm about 80% effaced and 1cm dilated. 
Other women say they dont like to bother with the numbers, but I like to know 🤷‍♀️

We don't get checked before checking if labor has begun.

My doctor didn’t bother until I was being induced.

My doctor told me at 36 week when they start checking your cervix. Some doctor does 37 weeks

I didn't get then until I was at the hospital for delivery. There's no real reason to do them before that.

I never got it done until I was in labor. Cervix checks don’t tell you anything except how dilated you are and you can stay that way for weeks or months.
