Braxton Hicks?

I am currently 34 weeks. I have felt Braxton Hicks contractions before but never this bad. I was in the process of standing up out of the floor, from playing with my puppy, and I had such a strong tightness and pain in my stomach that I literally fell back into the floor in pain. Thank the lord my husband was near by to help me as I was freaking out. Is this amount of pain normal?
