Does Metformin cause delayed periods?

I started metformin 3 weeks ago. My cycle is pretty much regular. I get my periods every 5 weeks. But I am almost 2 weeks late now. I am newly diagnose with pcos btw.

I took a PT yesterday and didn't see it during the time frame. Few hours later, there were 2 lines on it but I was thinking that was an evap line. I uploaded it on the other group and they said it is a line and they congratulated me. The line is thick, it has color but still, appeared after the time frame so I didn't get my hopes up.

I took another PT a few hours after that, my urine was diluted cause I drank so much water and as expected it was a bfn.

Still no AF now. I don't want to take another PT because that's just like adding salt into the wound. I have been ttc for 18 months and yesterday was the only time I saw a second line (which most probably is an evap)

So do you think that metformin could cause my delayed cycle? Tomorrow, I will be 14 days late. This is the longest I have gone.

I have no symptoms aside from back pain that occasionally occurs making me think that af is gonna make an appearance but still no AF. My appointment on my fertility specialist is on April 6 so I hope u van shed some light.
