Anyway that keeps our baby girl and me healthy is fine with me. I genuinely do not care as long as we are ok

None of these really answer what I have planned for a birthing plan. I plan to go "natural", preferring IV pain medications as needed, unless the pain get so unbearable that I request the epidural. Just basically keeping an open mind for all options. FTM & not sure how I'll be in this situation what so ever, but I work in L&D and have seen a little bit of everything.

I'm resistant to lidocaine and novocaine, along with many other pain killers. I'm not getting a shot near my spine that has a good chance of not working for me.

I've wanted to go natural all 3 times always end up with an epidural :( I had a " birth plan" with my 1st but my nurse kept offering the epidural, I was in pain but getting through it I just didn't want people talking to me and my nurse would not stop pushing, and since my mom works in the hospital I didn't want to cuss the lady out so finally I just gave in. My 2nd I was gonna go natural but my labor stalled after my water broke and they gave me pitocin and that was horrible! I went from manageable pain to the worst pain I could imagine in 2 seconds and it wouldn't stop I held out for about 6 hrs and I still wasn't dialating and I wasn't allowed up or out of bed, I sat up to get my epidural and I said oh God, I have to push now like now now and the nurse said oh honey we just checked you there is no way you dialated from 4 to 10 in 5 minutes time just let them get your epidural in and we will check you sure enough I was 10 cm I just needed to move! My 3rd no excuse it had been a long night and day and I didn't have the energy to fight the pain, I just wanted to sleep so I got the epidural and slept about 8 hrs before I finally dialated.

I may not have a choice. I'm on blood thinners, so if I go into labor after I give it to myself before 12 hours is up I can't have an epidural.
