I was a Girl Scout from age 5-11, and I have a 7yo daughter. Her school has a Girl Scout troop and we considered joining but the nights they meet my daughter already had a dance class and she wanted to stick with that. I have happy memories of being a Girl Scout, so I spent a little time looking into other troop options and digging a little further into their activities as well as their associations. I feel after much review I see that Girl Scouts of America (GSUSA) and their association with World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is using young girls to support the narrative of a movement supporting organizations including Planned Parenthood. Dues from each girl go to WAGGGS, which financial link support to PP, and have no pro life affiliation.

I have no doubt the GSUSA has a lot of positive attributes, but I can’t help but feel this link is a dirty association, and for that reason I won’t be participating with my family in GSUSA. There is a lot more info out there, but I will share this screen shot and article:
