Extended bleeding on new pill?
Hey everyone!
I started taking birth control pills when I was about 15/16. I started with Yasmin then switched to Yaz (and its various generics) and never had any problems. Then I ran into some unrelated health issues and went off all hormonal birth control entirely for almost 2 years. I finally got cleared to start birth control again and I'm back on Loryna. I started my first active pill on the first day of my most recent period per the instructions. AF typically lasts 4-6 days tops for me, generally 4 or 5...and everything seemed pretty typical up until CD 6. I had finished bleeding the day before and had some very minimal brown spotting that morning but really nothing to write home about. That evening my S/O and I had sex and I started bleeding pretty heavily towards the end. We did get a bit rough but I've never bled from rough sex before. And for the past two days I've alternated between light brown spotting and heavier, more red "period-like" flow.
Long story short...is this extended bleeding typical when starting the pill? I originally started it so long ago that I can't remember what kinds of things I experienced my first few cycles.
