What were the early signs that made you feel you were in the earlier stages of labor? How soon after did you have your cutie pie?

I know about mucus plug and all but I wonder if you felt certain pains or aches without contractions, I want to know what was different that day?

I'm really confused about the loss of mucus plug as a sign of early labour as I see a lot of ladies posting say they lost there's at 20wks 26wks etc. and Peole replying staying to comes back?

I lost my mucus plug that Saturday morning....& then 2am Sunday morning, I woke up with cramps (thought it was gas, felt like bad period cramps, but it was contractions!) after I tried to work them out a little while on my exercise ball...my water broke when I went to the bathroom. Got to hospital at 4am..she arrived at 8am! I just did slot of dancing cardio & squatting that week...nothing besides the mucus plug signaled labor was soon for me!

At 40+3 I had mild contractions for almost 2 days, and my stomach was working all the time. But some woman go on like that for quite a while. About 36 hours after the uncomfortable contractions started I had my little boy. It felt like I was in labour forever lol!

Ohhh, i just want this baby to engage in my pelvis and she won't!! I'm almost 37 weeks. Huh!!

I had felt fine all day, one Saturday. I went to bed as normal, husband was at work, I was looking at my phone and then at around half past 11 I had my first contraction. I was sure of it, my belly was tightening and I hadn't felt anything like it before. I kept watching the clock and half an hour later it happened again. This went on until 1am and I went to the toilet and when I wiped I saw pink. I rang the hospital to explain and she said it was normal. If I passed a mucous plug then I sure never saw it..!! 
Contractions then started coming every 20 minutes. This went on until the early hours of the day and at 5am I had a bath. I had taken some paracetamol for the pain but I ended up being sick 3 times. 
About 12.5 hours after my first contraction my waters broke. And not just a trickle, the whole lot!

In the days leading up to my water breaking, my cervix felt really sore. Almost bruised, like I had been punched. I didn't know it was a sign as I was only 36 weeks, but then my water broke and I saw blood and mucous in the the toilet. When mentioned to my midwives, they confirmed that the soreness was indeed an early sign.
