Placenta encapsulation??

Question

Anyone do this? What were your thoughts/ experience post partum? 
Anyone on multiple pregnancies that didnt do it with all of them? Did you notice a difference pp?? 
Ive read that there is hormonal benefit pp if you do do it, that it helps with ppd & hair loss, and for some milk production. Im really leaning towards doing it but would like more info or  first hand experiences ..

The placenta comes out of our bodies after birth for a reason. We don’t need it any more.

Honestly I can’t speak from personal experience, but at the birthing classes that I took the Midwife explained that all the bad stuff that your body and the baby doesn’t need during pregnancy goes into the placenta, like it’s a barrier ..so she explained why it’s kind of controversial to actually ingest the capsules. With that said, I know many moms who have ingested their placenta. For me, I didn’t feel good about it...but at the end of the day you have to do what’s good for you and your baby and what you feel good about.

I didn’t do it but when I took my baby class the nurse touched base on it and mentioned taking it can slow down milk production. She said once the placenta comes out so do all the pregnancy hormones which tells your body to release the hormones that start milk production. By reintroducing the placenta to the body it tells your body to stop releasing the milk hormone. It was something along those lines anyway. I can’t really remember all the details m, but she was pretty anti encapsulating. Considering she’s a nurse I felt she is probably more educated on it than most who get their info from google, but who knows.
I’ve heard it being helpful for some people though. It could be a placebo effect, but I guess you never know.
