Baby shower cancelled?

So my mother in law lives in Houston and we are in Dallas. She was supposed to throw my baby shower March 23 but was postponed due to the Oil Refineries catching on fire and she lives near them it was not safe for us to go. So she asked if it was okay to do it the weekend after..... well we couldn’t do the weekend after because my husband works Saturday’s every end of the month due to inventory.... well his mother really didn’t say much about changing the date or anything. Well that Saturday came up and my husband was told he had that Saturday off... but the following he will have to work. Well we decided to surprise her on Friday because we haven’t visit since December.... arriving there she mentions to us you know your baby shower is next Saturday so you guys need to come back 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ which my husband works next Saturday..... and I am not going to drive 4 hours alone when I been dealing with swollen feet..... I mean what would you do if you where in my position??? I am so over it! I do not want a baby shower anymore ... I told my husband can they just give us what they are going to give the baby and that’s it. It’s not a big deal anymore. Ughhh am I wrong for thinking that way?!
