Ovulation question

Kaitlin

So on Sunday I did the OPK and got a positive result. That same night I had the normal cramping that comes with ovulation. Today I had a transvaginal ultrasound done because my OBGYN just wanted to make sure everything was still normal. She said she that she saw an ovulatory follicle on my right ovary indicating that I was ovulating today. I’m just very confused because I already had my positive OPK two days ago and when I took one today it was negative. Does anyone know what that could mean?

The photo in the comments is my negative OPK taken after my appointment

A positive ovulation test just means that you'll be ovulating in 12-36 hours. Not that you ovulated that day.

That’s what I’m thinking is happening with me as well! I just started charting temps as well and had a large jump in temp today too so that makes sense

I learned this recently because when charting my temps, coupled with opks, my ovulation day has always been 1-2 days after my positive test. So I went to google & found out that its just a surge that happens before you actually ovulate. Which is why I think I haven't gotten pregnant yet. Not timing correctly!

Thank you. Like I said this is all very new to me so I’m not sure how it works!

I asked her at the appointment and she didn’t really have an answer for me ☹️🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes, that is my negative from today that was taken after my appointment. I’m just so confused because she said she saw it herself in the ultrasound so I don’t know if the test isn’t accurate? This is my first month actually using the OPKs so I’m lost
