Hyperemesis Gravidarum
Well Sunday when I woke up I was violently sick, this continued for the next 9hrs as I was going to work, driving and working, then driving to the ER afterwords. I threw up every 20mins for 9hrs, I had run out of food to throw up and was throwing up stomach acids, wasn't able to keep water down either. I honestly thought I was going to die. I knew I needed to keep atleast water down but wasn't able to, so I decided to drive myself to the ER. I was given an IV and some benadryl with reglan and fluids before I was finally diagnosed hyperemesis gravidarum, my worst nightmare. This being my first child and first pregnancy it was horrifying to hear the words come out, the nurses telling me to simply get used to coming in and getting fluids aswell as trying to find a controlling medication for the remainder of my pregnancy. I was also told there was bacteria in my urine so I'm being treated for a potential infection before it gets the chance to turn into one. I'm glad we got it figured out right away but I'm not very happy as yesterday I was fine (day after coming home from hospital) but today the nasoua is back and I just feel over all tired and sick. I see my ob and baby on tommrow and that's exciting and scary, I just hope to end this issue with HG before it really starts up again. I was 12weeks1day when I was diagnosed and I cant imagine others that get diagnosed right at 4-5weeks. I dont think this topic is talked about very much but would like more people to talk to, maybe share stories and talk about things that might help a bit or things you found useful.
