Anyone have lice while pregnant?

I work at a youth centre and one of the kids here has head lice. Our boss said we are unable to ask the kid to leave. Just wondering if anyone has had head lice while pregnant and how can it be safely treated? I’m 30 weeks and worried about getting it because I don’t want to have to use a toxic treatment if I catch it.

Not sure about after you get it but I got this for my son when he started pre-k to prevent getting it. You can get it at target.

The chemical shampoos don’t really work because the lice become immune. Use mayo. Saturate the crap out of your hair and then tie a paper bag turban style around your hair. This suffocates them. I’ve heard oil works too but I’ve never tried it. You have to leave it at least three hours. That’s a good time to wash and vacuum everything - curtains, couches, mattresses. Wash everything that fits in the washing machine. Pick out the eggs. Retreat in a couple days to get the ones that hatch from the eggs that you miss.
That’s crap they won’t send the kid home. Daycare, public school and even my kids private school have a pretty zero tolerance policy on lice.

When I was a kid my mom soaked our heads in mayonnaise because the lice shampoos didnt work. Disgusting I know, but it worked. You have to keep it on your head for hours 🤢

That’s crazy I hear more about people in the states having lice than when I lived in a 2nd world country where a lot of us didn’t have electricity, running water, pharmacies, grocery stores etc and none of the animals we had ever went to any veterinarians because we didn’t have them. One of our cats had fleas once and she slept inside the house at night and none of us ever got lice
