I just recently started my period and I would like to know how you put a tampon in and if they work better than pads.

It’s a little tricky to explain in writing, but Tampax has a good video on YouTube called “how to insert a tampon” (it’s very cheesy, but also informative.  Some tips-use a tampon with a plastic applicator, don’t use anything bigger than a regular size until you get used to it, and use a panty liner or small pad as back up for a month or two while you figure out how tampons work for you.

When I first stared my period I didn’t use tampons for 2 years because I was too scared and I could never put them in correctly. Pads did the job but now I use tampons and find them much more convenient than pads, but it’s up to you. And don’t feel pressured into using a tampon just do whatever works best and what you’re most comfortable with 💗

My big mistake the first time I tried tampons was that I tried inserting it straight up. Insert it slowly and angle it a little. Once it’s at the right angle it’ll go in easily. If it’s uncomfortable or painful take it out because it’s not placed correctly and could even shift around. Also don’t feel pressured to use one product over another; it takes some time to figure out what works best for your body. Good luck 🍀
