Keto while pregnant ???

Hi!!! I just found out I am pregnant and I am wondering if anyone is following a keto diet while pregnant? I have been doing keto for 2 months now, and would like to continue this way of eating only if it is safe. I am of course going to ask my doctor at my first prenatal but I am just curious of the moms-to-be or have been on keto while pregnant and their experiences. To my knowledge it’s not a safe diet to follow while pregnant but that’s just what I’ve come across. Like you said just talk with your doctor before continuing with the diet.

Wrong place to ask this because you’ll get uneducated people don’t know nothing about it. From what I hear keto is perfectly fine while pregnant. It’s just s low carb diet and I’ve seen some pregnant women do it who have lost healthy weight while pregnant or did not gain a lot of weight at all during the entire pregnancy and delivered very healthy plump babies. Look up FB groups for pregnant women on keto! You’ll get more feedback there to form your own decision. 😊

Safe! Do you research everyone. I’m doing keto as well. There are studies that show it even helps with morning sickness and nausea. Your body will make carbs for your baby you don’t need to eat them. Good luck!

Not sure if the commenters here have actually done any research but I have a few things like this. There are actually many woman who did the Keto Diet while pregnant and had better milk supply, less morning sickness and felt better than previous pregnancies. A babies brand needs real actual fatty food nutrients and this talks about that. ❤️💜❤️

I was full keto prior to preg and couldn't stomach meat in the first tri. I went full carbaholic. Just entering second tri this week and starting to introduce more meat and veg back. Going to modify for 50g per day instead of 20g or lower as I feel better with a slightly higher intake. Trying to be intuitive, really. 
After my first child, I went full keto while breastfeeding. Once I got past the first couple weesk, my milk was freaking amazing, so much more rich as compared to SAD. 
Stick to keto forums for better info about pregnancy. Nobody here is favorable and where there is lack of knowledge, there is fear mongering.

High Fat, Moderate Protein, and very low carbs are great for a growing babies brain and heart. Honestly, if it were me, I would start slowly adding some healthy carbs into the diet as the pregnancy progresses.

Keto is not recommended for pregnancy because it sends your body into a state of keratosis, which is harmful to the baby. My doctor recommended a modified version that incorporates carbs. It’s just more than the keto diet asks for. Definitely ask your doctor though. There are people educated in keto and other similar diets, but when it comes to the health of your child it’s always better to get the medical facts from a doctor. Ask and see what they say.
