So I've had irregular periods all my life. I've been with my boyfriend for 1 1/2 years and when we first got together sex was great then all of a sudden out of nowhere a few months ago, things took a turn

I no longer had a sex drive, and sex was painful.

Thinking it was birth control, I stopped it entirely. Found out it wasn't. My doctors office told me that I MIGHT have ovarian cysts. Honestly. I just want to be able to enjoy sex again and I want it to stop hurting. Also I NEVER know when I'm gonna have a period. All of this scares me because I feel like I'll have difficulties having kids.

Also: my left ovary hurts so much that It literally hurts to touch on the outside of my stomach

You might have mutli-cystic ovarian syndrome OR polycystic ovarian syndrome. They are very similar, and the difference being that PCOS has more symptoms that are horrendous. I've known that I've had PCOS since I was 9 and was formally diagnosed at 13 and put on Orthotricyclen. This was the best BC that controlled most of my symptoms.

However, the best way for me to have a regular (ish,) period + start ovulating again after 10 years + significantly fewer cyst ruptures was to cut out all soy and rbst, and have the IUD Skyla put in.

I would suggest getting an ultrasound to check if you have a large ovarian cyst, the larger they are the higher the risk is that if they rupture it will destroy your fallopian tube.

Call your OB and see them asap. You may also want to look up "soul cysters" its a PCOS based support group/website!
