Why have a registry if no one buys from it?

Ok just need to vent. So I have a baby shower coming up, and I set up 2 different registries. 2 for convenience for people, amazon and target. No one has yet to buy anything. I know of a few people who have purchased items not from the registry. What’s the point of making them if people don’t buy items from there? I mean I put items I want and need for the baby with different price ranges. I am grateful for ANYTHING I receive and I understand people don’t have to buy anything at all. Gifts are appreciated no matter what, it’s definitely the thought BUT why purchase something if I either don’t need it or might not even use it. Idk I guess i think differently, I choose to purchase items from a registry that I figure the parent/s need and want. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Kind of aggravating.
