Any advice on how to ween toodler off bottle night feeding?

He is 18 months traveled almost every month of his life and we are expecting new baby in August. His pediatrician just said to slowly eliminate them. Any advice would be great

I started to give my son water instead and he would sip a bit but wouldn’t really want it. Then eventually I just took away the drinks completely, and just would rock him when he woke up instead of feeding and he would typically fall right back to sleep! Soon after, he started sleeping through the night!
