Surgical abortion?

Hey guys, I’m currently 8 weeks and I have an appointment for a surgical abortion Saturday morning. I haven’t told anybody except my boyfriend, and I’m just wondering how your experience went? I’m 21 and I don’t really want my mother to know so would I be able to conceal it? I’m just really scared and nervous all around (not about my decision, just the procedure itself because I hardly ever go to doctors)

I had a D&C for a missed miscarriage not an abortion but the procedure is the same. If you’re not going under general anesthesia they’ll likely just give you a shot to numb your cervix so you won’t feel as they dilate you. With my D&C they used an aspirator to remove the contents of my uterus. I know sometimes they’ll scrape the lining of your uterus but my doctor said this wasn’t necessary for me. The whole procedure is around five minutes but you’ll likely be in recovery for at least an hour. If you’re put under general anesthesia you won’t remember anything and you’ll wake up in recovery. They’ll also probably keep you a bit longer since you were put to sleep and need to be monitored a bit more. Other than that you just wait until you’re sent home . Once you’re home you’ll experience some bleeding but it’s like a period. I didn’t have much cramping. My bleeding lasted two weeks but it wasn’t heavy. I dont think it’ll be noticeable to anyone so you won’t have to worry about your mom finding out.
