Taking baby in public?

Wondering when you first took your newborn out into a Public place. My husband will be graduating from college about 2-3 weeks after Baby is born... I don’t want to miss his graduation or leave baby with someone... obviously his car seat will be covered the whole time...thoughts on this?

It should be fine. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I took all my babies out and about at very young ages. Just don’t allow others to get too close or touch the baby.

What conditions will the baby be in? Indoors/outdoors, moderate or extreme weather? Loud noises? If you take the baby,  make sure you have easy access to excuse yourself if they start crying or you need to change a diaper.

I took my newborn out in a wrap around 2 weeks. I know sometimes it's suggested to wait until 4 weeks but I was careful to keep my hands clean if I touched anything and kept her covered and she seems fine. 🤷 I've taken her out a few times since and she'll only be a month old in a few days.

My daughter was prem (born 36 weeks) and we took her out in her pram for a walk around the block at seven days old. I couldn’t stand being indoors any longer!

Be extremely careful about covering the car seat, it traps heat, restrict airflow and makes co2 build up. Nor can you see how baby has the head.

The day we came home he was out in public. We stopped for some food ran to the store picked up some stuff then to the pharmacy and finally home. I kept him close and covered when people asked to look I just politely declined said baby was brand new and sleeping.

Should be fine, we went to a restaurant at 3 weeks and he just stayed in the car seat asleep
