Air dry or put in the dryer?

First time Mom- I bought 17 brand new smart bottoms- my baby is almost 10 lbs. and then I’ll start putting him in them! Question- do you air dry or put in the dryer? What are the pros and cons for each? I’ve been prepping the diapers and air drying them but if honestly takes a long time for them to dry! Is it bad for the diapers to put them in the dryer?

I dry on the delicate setting. I turn the dryer on before I go to bed at night and let them sit while I’m at work the next day. Elastics can get wear out from stuffing pocket diapers while warm. I want to be sure they’re totally cooled down.

I dry in the dryer on low heat. I don’t have time to hang diapers and wait around for them to dry. I have 4 kids to chase around and I’m currently pregnant so my time and patience is limited.

It’s not bad to put them in the dryer. Do low heat or use the air dry settings? You just don’t want high heat to preserve the pul and elastics.

The covers should dry pretty quickly (and I don’t think those need more than one wash to be ready?) and the inserts can go in the dryer.

Oh sorry I didn’t realize that smart bottoms made AIOs— my friend uses the AI2s (I use a different brand of covers and inserts)

Always air dry waterproof material if you can. Inserts can go through the dryer. It’s too risky in my opinion to machine dry the covers.

I’ll take pics of the one I have when I get a chance this morning. You have to look real close and kind of stretch and flex the cover to see if the surface has any variations.

How can you tell when the TPU is cracked? We are gonna cloth diaper and I’m buying used hybrid shells but idk what to look for to know if the TPU is cracked

I haven’t used AIOs but I do know I’ve had cracked TPU/PUL even when I thought I was being really careful. I think TPU cracks more easily than PUL if that helps.
