How would you feel if the house right next yours became a halfway house for people just getting out of prison?

This is the issue I’m facing the house next to ours just went up for sale. Now we are hearing that a church bought the property and is turning it into a halfway house for people just being released from prison. This could mean thieves, drug addicts, rapists, child molesters, I hate this and don’t feel like my children or me are safe living right next to that.

We are in a nice residential area with a school bus stop on our street where many kids walk to go home that live on this street.

There is also a school and a park the next block over but from what I’m hearing this house is literally just out of the legal distance to be near a park or school.

Edit- sorry if halfway house is not the correct term for a living house for people being released from prison.

And I never said I’m a higher power then anyone. I won’t know what their crime is and I personally have a recovered former drug addict that is a family member living in my home to get back on his feet. But if there will be child molesters yes that is a problem to my children’s safety and the safety of the community.
