Question

How many ultrasounds do we tend to get in the US? I've had both the dating and anatomy but I just saw baby move from outside of my tummy (23 weeks today) and want to see her again 😂 thinking of an elective one from a private place around 30 weeks if I won't be getting another

Usually 2 for an uncomplicated pregnancy but it can depend on your doctor too. Most women get 1 in the beginning to get a due date, then 1 around 20 weeks for the anatomy scan.

It depends on your doctor and insurance I’ve had 3 so far at 14 weeks, one was due to a spotting scare otherwise my doctor had it scheduled for 9 weeks, 15, 20, and then I kind of forget how many after that haha she said 3rd trimester it will be every few weeks

I’m high risk and I’ve already had 2 and I’m only 8 weeks. 
With my son I had them at every dr appointment so tons.

It’s usually 2-3. I got lucky (?) and have had 5 and I’m 26 weeks due to complications:
1) at 5.5 weeks due to history of ectopic
2) at 7 to reassess heart rate (was low at US 1)
3) at 12 weeks (dating ultrasound)
4) at 20 weeks for anatomy
5) at 24 weeks because baby girl was uncooperative at anatomy scan, had to get more views
I say lucky because all of them turned out normal, just an opportunity to see her. OB said I shouldn’t expect any more. Side note: my US tech I shouldn’t get a 3D ultrasound bc she was super uncooperative at the 20 and 24 week scan so she doesn’t imagine she’ll be cooperative for a 3D. Something to take into account.

I'm 17 weeks. So far I've had one at 6w. 9w, and 16w with a belly measure and doppler apmt at 13w. I go back in 4w.  No complications. FTM

Depends on your health and the baby’s. My good friend is obese and because of that they considered her high risk and she got an ultrasound at every visit!! Usually you get two though.

I have had four however the one was because I was loosing so much weight they just wanted to check on the baby. Besides that I had one at 8 weeks, my nuchal, and then my anatomy!

At my doctor office I got them every visit. Now that I go every two weeks I won’t get one until I’m about 36 weeks

I got 2 with my daughter. A dating scan at 11 weeks and an anatomy scan at 20 weeks.
