waiting to find out gender?

did anybody wait until birth to find out the gender? what was that experience like, just wondering because i always thought i would for sure want to know but now i’m not so sure

I waited with both! So worth it! I mean, finding out isn't going to change anything. It's going to be a boy or girl whether you find out before or after! Labor and delivery is such a crazy and special experience...also pretty shitty and painful 😆 but that moment when my husband tells me the gender is so exhilarating! Makes all the pain disappear for a moment and its just so heartwarming.

Most people say they are too much of a planner to wait, but that’s BS. I’m the most type-A, control freak, planner you’ve ever met, and I love waiting. I’m not into the overly genderized clothes and nursery anyway, so my plan is just neutral. It’s also a great exercise in patience, which is the number one skill you must learn to be a good parent.

Yes! We loved wondering who our baby was. I was 100% sure the baby was a boy but out came our little girl! Her birth was pretty traumatic for me but finding out who she is was an incredibly sweet highlight. We’re waiting again and I’m 39+2!

My due date is 12 days away and I couldn't be happier with our decision to wait to find out. I am so excited to be our little family of three for that window of time after the birth and before telling our families.
