Would I be able to take a yeast infection pill even if I’m not sure I don’t have it?

I was diagnosed with BV last week so I was prescribed the applicator with cream. I finished the antibiotics last week and I was prescribed a yeast infection tablet as well (flucanzole) bc anti biotics usually cause YIs. If I were to take the pill just to be sure everything’s okay down there, would I be able to?

You could but I wouldn't take it unless you have it. It's never good to take meds for things you dont actually have.

Wait to see if you have symptoms first. Bacteria and yeast keep each other balanced down there. If you take the antifungal when you don’t need it, you may end up with an overabundance of bacteria and another case of BV.
