Cramping from mild to severe

So I’m about 7 weeks and I haven’t even had my first prenatal appointment yet...it’s a week from today. For the past week or so I’ve been having some mild cramping with no bleeding and every source I checked said that’s totally normal. But the last two nights I’ve been woken out of a sound sleep by violent cramps. Last night was worse than the first. I thought I was going to pass out. Both times it lasted about 20 minutes before starting to fade. I haven’t had any bleeding. The ‘morning sickness’ that I’ve experienced so far has been nothing more than gagging a couple times and spitting up some bile when I first get out of bed. I have a very high ER copay, and I know that’s a dumb reason not to go get checked out but I’d hate to waste the money if this still sounds like it’s in the ‘normal’ range of early pregnancy symptoms. Has anyone had this kind of severe cramps? Particularly anyone who then went on with a normal successful pregnancy?
